By modernizing these spaces, we aim to transform them into an environment that fosters collaboration, creative thinking, and the evolving needs of today's youth, who will become tomorrow's leaders, innovators, and changemakers.
Project Overview
The proposed project seeks to renovate an existing library or learning space to create a vibrant, accessible, and welcoming environment for the children of the community. Projects may include:
- Space Renovation/Creation: Redesign the layout of the library space to optimize functionality and create an innovative space for children.
- Resource Expansion: Technology needs to meet the evolving needs and interests of our children and the community.
- Modular Group Areas: Create flexible spaces for group activities, workshops, and events to foster innovation and creativity among the children.
We believe that investing in the renovation or creation of a library space aligns with our shared mission of empowering the next generation of leaders, innovators and changemakers. We are excited about the potential of this project to make a lasting and positive impact, and we are grateful for your consideration of our grant application.
Please provide the following in your application for the CEO Foundation Grant:
- Project Description: Please thoroughly describe your vision. Provide a detailed description of the proposed renovation project, including the goals, objectives, and expected outcomes. Highlight how the renovation will enhance the functionality, accessibility, and aesthetics of the library space. Do you have a need for technology enhancements or furniture? If so, please describe the type of equipment/furniture or upgrades you would need. Include any background information that will help us understand how you decided to pursue this particular project and a complete description of what you expect to do. Be sure to include discussion of other fund-raising activities and grants that have already been secured to complete the project at one time. Tell us your story.
- Budget: Present a comprehensive budget that outlines anticipated expenses associated with the renovation project. Ensure that the budget is realistic and aligned with the scope of the project. If your project is not yet at this point, that’s ok, we can help with scoping your project. If you have a need for technology enhancements or furniture, please include what type of equipment, qty and estimated cost of equipment and furniture you are requesting. Demonstrate any partnerships or collaborations that will support this project. This could involve working with local government agencies, community organizations, or private donors to leverage resources and expertise. Have you been approved or have you submitted an application for another grant that can supplement this project
- Timeline: Please provide an ideal timeline or schedule for the renovation project, outlining key milestones and deadlines for completion. If construction is involved, please include start date and projected completion date as well. Is closure of your facility for construction a possibility? This helps the grant committee understand the proposed timeline for implementation and ensures that the project stays on track.
Impact Assessment: Describe the anticipated impact and outcomes of the project on the library/institution and the community it serves. Outcomes are the changes, benefits, or other effects that happen as a result of the provided grant funds. This could include community members served, improvements in access to resources, increased usage of library services, enhanced community engagement, and other positive outcomes. Develop a plan for evaluating the success of the project once it is completed. Identify specific metrics or indicators that will be used to measure progress towards the project goals and objectives. - Community Need: Clearly articulate the need for the renovation project within the community. Provide evidence or data that supports the need for upgrading the space, such as outdated facilities, inadequate resources, or increased demand for services. Describe the library service area, the population who will most benefit from this project and explain how it will improve library services in the community. Where is your institution located?
Note: Eligibility depends on whether or not you are located in what is legally considered a low income area of town. - Implementation and Sustainability: Outline any plans on how you will implement and maintain the project and your plans for incorporating sustainable practices. Does it require funding beyond the grant year? If so and a grant is awarded, how will this project be funded beyond the grant year? What is the current staffing level at your library? Identify the person(s) who will implement the project, monitor the results and submit reports, including name(s) and title(s) only.
- Supporting Documentation: Please include any supporting documentation that supports the grant application, such as architectural plans, letters of support from community stakeholders, or endorsements from local leaders.
- Property Ownership and Management Documentation: Please provide information regarding ownership or official management authority of the property. This helps ensure that applicants have the legal right to carry out renovations and make physical modifications to the space.
- Compliance and Application Agreement: Please provide relevant regulations, codes, and standards. This may include building codes, accessibility requirements, historic preservation guidelines, and other legal considerations.
- Final Thoughts
Please include any additional information you believe is important for consideration of your project.
By meeting these requirements and providing a compelling case for the renovation project, you can increase the likelihood of securing grant funding to improve your library space.
Prior to selection, we may request a site visit and meeting with you and the relevant persons involved with this project. Upon selection, further inquiries and documentation may be required for final project details, scope, and requirements.
